People's Champ, I agree that you can't do this if its a 2-year deal, but if you can convince him for one (and that of course is a big if) then I think you have to make this deal. The team is in shambles right now and I really don't think the solution is in the room. If it were, it would have showed itself by now--52 games into the season. If you accept that as fact (and I don't know how you can't) then you have two options. 1) You make a trade or deal and try and salvage the season while you still can. or 2) You accept that the season is a dissapointment and move on to next year. Now if the only deal that you can make will set the team back for years if it doesn't work out then of course you don't make it and you go with option 2. However, if you can get a player without having to give anything up that MAY save your season and, if it doesn't, you can just move on when the year is done, then you ABSOLUTELY have to take a shot. Again, if 2 years is all that will do it then don't make the deal. If you can get Forsberg for the remainder of this year only, you have to make it. This is the typical "old" rangers move, and i dont think he is the answer to our problems. yes he is a superstar, but i just dont see it working. and if those are the lines if he was on our team, i dont like that either. Drury needs to be a center, he is not a winger. i hate to say this, but the way it looks is like Drury is the man not fitting in. he showed he cant play with jagr, he has been mediocore at best with shanny, and putting him with the non producing prucha and company of kids doesnt seem to work.
