John-Michael Liles is not a third-unit D-man, are you kidding me??

If the Rangers were able to work out a deal for Liles (which wouldn't be easy), you would have to insert him immediately on the top pairing and on the #1 PP unit.

Look at this guy's stats. This is a D-MAN with 149 points 287 career NHL games. When he's healthy, he's good for 35-40 points a season, and the only Rangers D-man you can possibly say that about is Rozy. There's no way Liles would be on the third defensive pairing!

He's the quarterback for the power play the Rangers desperately need. He's a left-handed shot to balance out Rozy's right-handed shot. He's +11 for his career also, better than Girardi and much better than Tyutin.

Liles is a first-pairing defenseman. If the Rangers could acquire him, you would have to play him with Rozy, Staal with Girardi, and Tyutin with Struds/Mara.

I agree Inferno, I think it's time to make a push for Forsberg. The one thing I disagree with is your line combos. I'd switch Dawes with Shanny. I love the way Dawes and Dubi play together.

Right now, Jaromir Jagrs play is like an anchor weighing this team down. Look, im not killing the guy, I really do think hes trying exceptionally hard. I just dont think hes playing very well anymore with Gomez.

Sign Foppa and put him with Jagr, and give all 3 of our top lines equal minutes.

Straka Forsberg Jagr
Drury Gomez Dawes (works great on the PP)
Avery Dubinsky Shanny
Hossa Betts Orr

Trade Prucha, Malik, and another prospect for Liles

Rozsival Staal
Tyutin Girardi
Mara Liles

Vally is playing out of his mind right now. But this team needs to capitalize on the PP, they are 0/4 right now. The have to continue to skate hard and not give the period away with only a few minutes left.
