All jokes aside, the Rangers did get their depth defensman. Christian Backman to the Rangers for a 4th round pick.
I like the move. They got him on the cheap and the deal almost guarantees Jason Strudwick doesn’t see the ice the rest of the way.
In bigger news, Marion Hossa to the Pens! We’ll see how this shakes up the Eastern Conference.

Hal Gill to the Pens as well, I don’t especially like that. That means they have the anti-Jagr weapon Toronto has employed fairly successfully for the last couple of seasons….
