the power play is disfunctional... of course the coaches are't on the ice, so then switch up the PP players... get some other guys time on the PP... they can't do any worse.

obviously it isnt the coach. The problem is with the players. One of the biggest complaints with the power play is that they would pass the puck around the perimiter and look for the "perfect" shot.
but even when they started to send people to the front of the net on the power play nothing happened. And if you are gonna tell me that it is Pearn's fault, that is ridiculous!
We all know that this team didn't start to WORK until it had to. They cruised through the first half of the season and when they did decide to care, it was too late.
And yes, considering the previous 8 years before Renney and Co. showed up. This is defanitly the Renaissance of this franchise. If they keep things going it will not be another 54 years till they win another cup.

The renaissance of this team?

Really?

We lost in the Eastern Conference semifinals (again!). We finished third in the division (again!).

Not blaming that all on Perry Pearn, but come on, it's hardly been a Ranger "renaissance". We're at the same place we were last year in terms of what we did in the regular season and playoffs, and have a whole host of UFA's to make a decision on this summer.

I think someone else could be brought in to do the exact same job, and probably better, than what Pearn did on the special teams. He can go to Florida and I wish him well, but I'll be glad to see him leave New York.

Well, really think about it. Our powerplay was an absolute abonination. Our PK was fantastic(for the most part). I don't work in the NYR organization but whomever is responsible for the PK stays and the PP goes. I know it's not as cut and dry as that but it's a simple theory that I'm sure can bit fixed over the 4-6 months off. Pearn going could be a blessing or it could really bite us in the rump.

Dude, Michael really? That much hatred for Perry? He is a big reason for the renaissance of this team. At least give him a little credit.

Perry Pearn confirmed that he's interested in the Panthers job, according to the Palm Beach Post as reported by Zipay today.

My feelings? Go now! The less time you spend in New York from now on, the better. Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Perry.

Great last episode guys!

My vote is for 50mins. - 1 hour as far as length goes. It's difficult to go in-depth in 30 mins. That said, during the season, I'd rather have 2 shorter episodes rather than 1 long one per week.

My thought regarding Jagr is that we should keep him around for another year to give the young kids more time to gel. The team worked so hard this year to try to find chemistry. The last thing I want is for them to upset the apple cart again.

After the 4 minute non-call high stick against Drury in period 2 of game 5, I swore I was done watching the playoffs for the season... But I have no willpower, and yes, Versus is playing in the background. I kind of want the Pengos to go all the way, to validate the Rangers' season a bit more. :/

Enough with Jaromir Jagr... with all respect to what he's done for the Rangers, I can't wait to see what the team does without him. We have to make the plunge into the waters of post-Jagr. yes he was brilliant at times, but most of the time Jagr is handlable for the opposition. I'm sorry I can't watch Jagr skate around half-heartedly for 70 games of the year just for 5 wins in the play-offs, that is not a pay-off for the Millions he receives. Not to mention, Joe Schmo has paid $250 in tickets and beverages for him and his kid to come to the game in December or January and it's not fair that they should get half a Captain, & half a Chris Drury.

That and many other reasons...
