The chances are good Inferno. We'll definitely be doing one, but given our schedules at this point, it may not be until the 29th or 30th. Hang tight!

Apparently the Rangers are interested in Mats Sundin, according to Fox Sports. That would be a huge signing for us; he's a big, strong center that we desperately need, is great on faceoffs, and can score on the powerplay. To me, he'd be a perfect fit.

Who cares? How many years of first round picks have been left in Russia (Cherepanov)? Send to Hartford forever? (Bobby Sanguinetti, etc.) Though, we saw new blood on the ice this past season (and it wasn't spilled from a Philadelphia Flyer...thank you Colton Orr) our Blueshirt young'ens lit it up.

In my opinion, aside from the Crosbys, Malkins' and soon Tavares' of the draft, the draft is a huge 'what if', premature for a franchise to get excited about. Generally it leads to disappointment.

Free agency is the true event.

Michael... we have no idea what the NHL game of any of those guys will be like. They could completely fall apart although I certainly hope not. To have a glut of guys that have that potential ability however is a great asset, either on your team or as a trade for something you need.

Dubinsky, Callahan, Straka and Gomez all play in their own zone.

Avery is "ok" in his own zone.

Korpedo will be a welcome addition to this team, hes very much a marian hossa clone, with one massive difference, his offensive game is very much dormant. when korpedo finally unlocks his offensive potential, youll see an elite 2-way player. if he never unlocks his offensive potential, he will still be an exceptional defensive forward.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention Dan Cleary, Draper, and Holmstrom..all very good in their own zone as well, thus allowing the defenseman to push forward when needed.

Marc and Brendan, the Wings also have much more talent surrounding those offensive-minded defensemen. Lidstrom is the best defensive defenseman in the league as well, so it's not like all he does is score.

Another huge difference between the two is the fact that the Wings have Datsyuk and Zetterberg, both of whom are great offensively but were also finalists for the Selke Trophy this year, showing their two-way prowess. The Wings' D can go forward and take chances because their forwards are responsible at the other end of the ice. Other than Drury and the 4th line, none of the Ranger forwards are worth a lick defensively; they're lazy and apparently have never heard of back-checking. The Rangers can't afford to use two or three puck-moving defensemen because they can easily get caught out and be susceptible to quick counter-attacks.

I don't see that you can have enough puck moving defensemen. With the NHL all about defense and watching how the Wings just won the cup by playing absolutely amazing, mind blowing pass angles out of their zone and into the oppositions, I can't see how you can have too many of these guys...

Michael, thats not accurate at all, hes known to throw big time hits, in fact hes known to go out of position to make big time hits, which im fine with. But i agree, i dont see the need for another puck mover.

You would think that with Sanguinetti, Sauer, and even Hutchinson in the AHL, the Rangers have all the puck-moving defensemen they need already in the system.

In defense of this guy though, at least he isn't Delgado, as Eric said. If he was, he'd be old, slow, and incapable of playing his position.
