Dotting the I’s

During this period of the off season not much is happening that’s going to make front page news.  Just little transactions.  Hammering down those final contract issues.

So, with that being said, the Rangers have made some minor moves this past week.

Hugh Jessiman has been resigned by the club.  The Rangers are hoping that Hugh can turn it around.  Being the lone first-rounder of his draft class not to play in the NHL, Hugh has a lot to live up too.  But, who knows maybe Jessiman is just a late bloomer.  One has to believe that being drafted in the first round garners you some extra years of grooming.  And also, Hugh is a great name.  Not bad to be the namesake of a man who spends his days in a mansion, wearing a robe, and playing with bunnies.

In slightly bigger news, the club has also resigned Freddy Shoes, or as the roster says Fred Sjostrom.  He comes back with a one-year deal worth $840,000.  Steve and I talked a lot about The Shoes’ production last year.  I personally like Freddy.  But, I think he needs to be on a fast moving line to be effective.  His skill set is nothing extraordinary, but with the right combination of guys around him, he can be productive.

Also, for the sake of conversation, you all have had a chance to look at the schedule by now.  What matchup intrigues you the most?  Or, a game you already are chomping at the bit to get tickets too.  Let us know below.

Adam Graves Night. After that not much with a 25% increase in tickets. My seats went from $80 to $100 per game. I think Cablevision is having the Ranger fans pay for the renovation of the Garden. Since the Knicks are doing an imitation of the Rangers of the late 90s early 00s and not making the playoffs their ticket prices are not going up.

Meanwhile on a better note two nights of Springsteen sticking it to the Newark Satans. Opening night at Super Bowl Champion Giants Stadium he signs about the Rangers homecomeing and never mentions either the new or old Devils’ Arcade.

Willing to accept an extra ticket for Thursday night for the Springsteen Hat Trick.

McKeever, there are plenty of empty seats on most nights at Joe Louis Arena for regular season games. Whether or not you can get a ticket, though, is the tricky part, as you hinted.

I definately want to get some Rangers-Devils tickets. Anyone have an inkling as to about when Adam Graves Night is going to be? He was my all-time favourite when he was playing. (I mean I have love for Mess, Richter & Leetch). I think everyone wants tickets to Rangers-Stars game in October. Rangers-Caps in Washington D.C. (Christmas road trip) the same goes for Rangers-Bruins in April (4th), and most definately April 12th in Philly (for my birthday)
It only took a few weeks, but I’m glad to see Freddy Shoes back on the roster. I loved him the most since the shootout loss to the Isles on 4th April. (I started screaming “SHOOEEEEE!” after he scored. That was so much fun!)

There’s pretty strong rumor out there that Adam Graves Night could be November 10, when Edmonton comes to MSG. Graves played for the Oilers before coming to the Rangers, and won a Stanley Cup there, so that would make some sense.

It appears that the Dolans are looking to sell off part of Cablevision. Please sell MSG and theteams to somebody who knows what thye are doing!

As a recent transplant to the bay area, I got December 20th circled on my calendar. Rangers at the Sharks. Dare I say possible Stanley Cup Finals preview?
