Oh, Ryan…

Thanks to loyal reader Gabbi R. for passing this along.  Former Rangers’ head hunter Ryan Hollweg doesn’t seem to have learned the error of his ways after costing the Rangers the Penguins series last season.  Hollweg, now playing for the Maple Leafs, received an automatic two-game suspension after his third boarding or checking from behind major in 41 games.  He received the penalty last Wednesday in a 7-3 loss to the Blues.

My opinion? The two-games isn’t enough.  This guy is dangerous to other players when he’s on the ice.  If this keeps up, the league has to look into making more of an example out of him.

Right, Ryan Hollweg alone cost the Rangers the series against the Penguins. It wasn’t because the Penguins were simply a better team or anything. Or that the Rangers couldn’t score on the PP and had trouble on the PK. Or that no one besides Jagr manned up and tried to lead the team. It was all Ryan Hollweg.

Holly is a barbarian, plain and simple.

In a similar light has anyone seen the E:60 with Sean Avery? Only thing to say after seeing that was… What an A-HOLE!!!!

Saw it last night, I thought it was a very good piece. I wish him well in Dallas; without him the last one and a half seasons, I doubt the Rangers would’ve even made the playoffs in either. The records with him in the lineup and him out of the lineup speak for themselves. I think it’s great that Avery is comfortable with who he is, particularly in a tough, physical, sport like hockey. Good for him.
