Gomez Back Tonight
Reports from the “This Couldn’t Have Happened Soon Enough” camp say that Scott Gomez will be in tonight’s lineup against Phoenix.
Sam Weinman reports that with Gomez in the lineup, the lines will look like this:
Drury-Gomez-Callahan
Naslund-Dubinsky-Zherdev
Voros-Korpikoski-Fritsche
Sjostrom-Betts-Orr
Redden-Girardi
Mara-Kalinin
Staal-Rozsival
You may also notice that in the defensive pairings, Marc Staal and Paul Mara will not be paired together for the first time this season. It’s a shame because they have really seemed to click together and have been the Rangers most effective pair. But, Rozsival and Redden have just been so putrid that maybe Coach Renney is looking for the Staal-Mara mojo to rub off on those two.
Here’s hoping Gomez can spark some life into this offense.

10 bucks says those arent the lines we will see in game. Renney always practices with one set, then plays an entirely different set.

Will be looking forward to both the new episode and the game. Hope that my WiFi connection is fast enough to download it before I leave to office for the Garden.
The lines, Gomer’s return and a hopeful kickstart to the game should bring us a W and one would hope the start of the way back to the top of the conference.
