There is no the Garden can afford to take Avery back after his comments. After the Anucha Browns Sanders debacle with the Knicks the Garden is asking for trouble by bringing Avery back after his comments.

It was nice while it lasted but there is no need for a second act with the Broadway Blues!

interesting to see Jagr sticking up for Avery this morning in the NYT... he definitely had his problems with some Rangers but somehow I don't think Jags was one of them...

Mr. Avery will end up signing with whoever Shanny Signs with, no one. I say we bring em both back, drop Dawes and Prucha, trade Reddin and Kalinin and put the two of them on the points. Any takers?

But Jagr, Dubinsky and Avery were a top line for a long period of time going from the end of the season into the playoffs.

Dubinsky said before the game against Dallas when asked about what it's like this year (and he said something along the lines of) "The team has a better chemistry now that we don't have different agendas."

Though I still love Sean, Sather turned the page on him and there's no turning back now.

However, I don't doubt that Sean might end up with a team like Vancouver, Columbus, or the Islanders. We'll be keeping an eye on the next move in "The Saga of Sean" along with "The Trials and Tribulations of Mats Sundin" (who is said to make his decsion between the 15th and the 19th, when rosters will remain frozen until the 27th.)

Michael- where have you been?

it was also well documented that he had a problem with Dubinski,Valiquette, and after the game vs the stars i bet he now has a problem with Lunqvist.

The problem the Stars had is that With avery and steve ott they had carbon copies of the same pest guy. the other problem avery has is with his "antics" which I love by the way, he tends to overshadow the superstars he plays with. Like he did here with jagr and like hes doing in dallas with Modano.

The point about many Rangers teammates not liking Avery is fair, sure, but this year's Rangers team is very, very different than last year's, and I have a not-so-sneaky feeling that the players that didn't like Sean were the finesse, non-physical guys like Jagr, Straka, and Malik, and we all know that the Eastern Europeapn players carried way too much weight on the team.

The Rangers' record when Avery was in the lineup compared to their record when he wasn't speaks for itself. For a team that has bowed out weakly in the playoffs three seasons in a row, a guy like Avery brings something the Rangers could use more of -- heart.
