Wednesday Nuggets

It’s that time of the week boys and girls!  Wednesday Nuggets, back at it again.  This may be the last Nuggets for a couple of weeks as I will be transferring my headquarters from Cincinnati to Syracuse in the upcoming days.

But, have no fear, I am here today.

Let’s get it on!

Around the Sports Blogosphere

My goal for my broadcasting career is to one day make it on this site (kidding, kind of).  Awful Announcing tells you what the Jets are doing about the Twitter frenzy in the NFL.

It’s Fantasy Football time and I’m sure many of you are gearing up for your drafts.  Empty the Bench has you covered, giving you the breakout players at each position.  Here’s their picks for wide receivers.

And if your thinking about drafting Antreal Rolle, Deadspin says you may want to think again.

Videos of the Week

This is why boxing is still a great sport.  One second you’re bobbing, you’re weaving, than….BAM!  Say goodnight.

I know you’ve seen this already.  But, come on!  Is there any sports moment of the year that tops this?

The answer is no.  But this is awesome…although I could do with out the screaming at the end.

That’s all for today, join me next time.  Also, have you seen the new Twitter icon on the left side of the blog?  It’s now that much easier to follow us on Twitter!  Sign up and start following today.

Ever consider the anyday podcast?
Seriously, any day will do.

TSN is reporting that restricted free agent Brandon Dubinski is holding out on contract negotiations with the New York Rangers until NYRangerscast puts up a new podcast.

He was quoted as saying:
“I’m disappointed in Steve and Eric this off season.” he then went on to say “they have made little to no attempt to reach out to me and show any interest in keeping me in New York, they only seem to care about Mattie (Matt Gilroy) and Artie (Artem Anisimov)…I just don’t really feel like I am wanted here”

The two of you should be ashamed of yourselves. Put up a Podcast already and BRING DUBINSKI HOME!!!

LOL, classic. Plebeian FTW

if you cant think of anything for podcast why dont yo do a prospect analysis at the traverse city prospect tournament

the funniest part about this is the complete and utter non reply from them.

I am like Avery, the only way to combat my antics is to completely ignore me.

I think they are taking the summer off. They probably have an intern doing the Wednesday Nuggets and are slapping Eric’s name on it.

In other “real news”:

Rangers are considering Dennis Seidenberg according to Zipay

yay tomorrow is wed. eric and steve will actually have to post something

do you guys think dubi is holding out for more money? or are the rangers trying to wait out ottawa and try to package him in a deal for heatly?

plebeian August 25th at 4:18 pm

I heard somewhere…cant remember where, that he might want to sign a shorter contract so that he can become a UFA earlier, as opposed to signing a longer deal (which is in the Rangers interest) which would keep him locked up for a few years at a lower price. Or something like that…I don’t get myself worked up over specifics.

I tell you one thing though. If I were Sather, knowing the bind that the Sens are in, If they demanded Dubinski to get the deal done, I would demand taking Redden in place of Rozival. Dont like it? find another trade partner.

Richard S August 25th at 4:26 pm

there is NO WAY the Senators would take Redden back after letting him walk. would losing rosival, dubi, and a prospect really a bad thing for an elite head case that is under contract until the 2013-2014 season?

plebeian August 26th at 8:27 am

No, I would. As long as the prospect included isn’t Anisimov or Grachev.
But Sather has a reputation for fleecing GM’s who are in a bind…might as well try.
