The Circle of Life as a Rangers Fan

Another day, another loss.  At least the Rangers mixed up how they lost this time.  They lost a game against Atlanta where they completely dominated and played one of the fullest games they’ve played all year.   Than they lost to the Islanders by simply not showing up to play.   Coach Torts had a profanitly laden rant after the game, his main message being that the Rangers play was unacceptable.  Tell me about it.

Folks, it’s getting to the point where the talk about this team is just going around in circles.  Here’s what that circle looks like.

Step 1: Rangers make minor move (By the way, Bobby Sanguinneti has been called up again)

Step 2: Rangers play a darn good game, but can’t quite pull out a win.  But hey, maybe they’re on the right track.**

Step 3: Rangers completely crumble, go lower than you could ever have imagined.

Step 4: Repeat.

**Step 2 has been known to produce a rare win.  But, it’s like seeing a Sasquatch, very rare.

It’s a four step process.  Unfortunately, the only way to stop the circle, I believe, is through major moves and major win streaks.  Neither of which look to be happening anytime soon.  So, until than, try to figure out what step the Rangers are in tonight against the Islanders.

Take it with a grain of salt, but the ESPN rumors page is saying that Sather might be fired this week!!!

According to Andrew Gross’ twitter, Redden and Kotalik are healthy scratches for the game tonight.

Wow, Drury is going to play on the 4th line! Gotta love Torts! And Rich, I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

I posted this to Twitter, but I will say it here as well. If the reports from Boomer and Carton are true about Sather being fired tomorrow if the Rangers lose tonight, does this make it worth rooting against the Rangers against the Islanders? My take: unfortunately yes. Get him out!

Well Erik, if Hank keeps playing the way he is it looks like Sather is going to keep his job. Why didn’t they just start Ochocinco!
